James Ulager, MD

Chair, Advisory Board 

Physician, Associate Vice President for Clinical Operations, Vice President of Catholic Medical Association in Vermont, husband and father.

Growing up in Western Pennsylvania, he attended University of Notre Dame and then the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He moved to Burlington to complete his training in family medicine, and has practiced comprehensive primary care since. He is currently the physician lead for provider well-being at the University of Vermont Medical Health Network Medical Group, and speaks regionally on the topic of provider and patient wellness. He has been practicing medicine for 14 years, serving patients of all ages with their medical needs.

Dr. Ulager lives with his wife and four children on a small sheep farm outside Burlington, Vermont. His family belongs to the Saint Jude parish in Hinesburg, Vermont, where he has served on the parish council.

He is currently an active member of the Vermont Suzuki Violin Board, the MyCatholicDoctor Fundraising Committee, the Diocese of Burlington Review Board, and the Green Mountain Care Board Advisory Committee.

He is grateful to serve his patients and those he works with by focusing on getting to the foundation of wellness, which is a healing relationship with Christ.
